Daniel and I got back from our little road trip to San Francisco on Wednesday. It was a lot of driving, but we had a great time. We didn’t do a whole lot, just kind of browsed around the city.
Our hotel was the Elements Hotel (actually a hostel, but they like to pretend it’s a real hotel) in the Mission, and it was very nice. The music from the club downstairs was incredibly loud on Saturday, but we knew it would be.
We had pretty good luck with restaurants. We tried the tasting menu at Dosa, a South Indian restaurant just around the corner from the hotel, and it was delicious. Even Daniel, who doesn’t really like Indian, said it was good. Of course, staying in the Mission, we needed to check out the Mexican food, and Taquería Cancún definitely delivered. We also dropped into a cute looking little restaurant by accident, but we ended up walking out with a chocolate cream brioche (!) and a desire to return. Apparently they mostly specialize in catering, but they had a nice salad bar and a big spread of desserts.
On Sunday, we went to the SF MOMA, which was just awesome. We ended up buying some serious swag at the gift shop, of course.
The Muni was really easy to figure out, and despite not having a bus schedule (only a map), we rarely had to wait more than a few minutes for a bus. All in all, we had a lot of fun and we will definitely be returning. I wish we could have stayed longer.
